As a result, Iran’s share of the car industry in the world is about 1.6 percent. Some of Iran’s regional rivals, such as Turkey, are still behind Iran despite the massive investment in boosting the car industry. Turkey produced one million vehicles in 2016, while Iran was lagging behind its plans to increase its car production due to a decade of economic instability.
